Terms

The rules for using this website. Project work has its own agreement.

Last updated

Note: this document is written to be accurate and plain, but it has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer. It is not legal advice. If anything here matters to a decision you are making, check it with your own counsel — and tell us, because we would want to fix it.

These terms

These terms govern your use of this website. They do not govern any project we carry out for you — that is covered by a separate written agreement, and where the two differ, the agreement wins.

Using the site

You may read, print and share anything on this site for your own purposes, including commercial ones. You may not scrape it at a volume that degrades it for other people, misrepresent it as your own work, or use it to train a model for resale without asking us first.

We try to keep the site available and accurate, but we do not guarantee either. Nothing here is a binding offer, and figures described as typical are exactly that.

Content and advice

Articles and guides on this site are general information, written from our own experience. They are not professional advice for your specific situation, and acting on them without checking is your decision.

Links to other sites are provided because we found them useful. We do not control them and are not responsible for what they say.

Intellectual property

The content, design, code and brand on this site belong to Bits Technologies Ltd unless stated otherwise. Third-party names and marks belong to their owners and are used descriptively.

Work we build for a client belongs to that client on the terms set out in their agreement with us. Our default is that you own it outright.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of this website. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya, and the courts of Kenya have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
